This will be my 1st Nokia in N.America, and wanted to start with something light and cheaper. Please advise if I should get this, where to get it cheap, and pros and cons.

Am in Ontario canada.

cheers

ok, well since i have an N73, i can def help you out

N73, aint cheap to start with, gotta need 850mhz for N.A., few N series have 850mhz, N80, N75, N73, N95, though N73 is not feature rich as other phones, and still around the $400 range, u might want to check out any decent S60 2nd Ed phone, like the 6620, 6682, and a S40 phone such as a 6270, they are good to start with to get familiar to symbian OS, then u can upgrade to the N series, some N series phones can be heavy, depending on ur liking, N73 is one of the lightest, or you can check out the E-series or get an E50 in the meantime to get familiar with the symbian OS, btw where r u in nA?

1. Check the BST forums here on Howardforums for a good deal.

2. I bought my first N73 from HI-Mobile.net and would highly suggest them again. You can also check fonegrabber.com

3. Pros/Cons - Pros - great screen, killer battery, solid firmware, killer camera. Cons - no wifi, no 3G (for North America)

That's it. Google N73 Review for more info. There's a gillion of them.

joystick is horrible and is the one of many factors that made me dump mine in favor of the N80.

if you can get over the joystick and small keypad, then I think this phone is pretty good...

...and there is always an N80 to consider

my thumb perspire easily so it is hard for me to use the joystick when i had the n73, too damn slippery and had a callus. But other than that the n73 is perfect, i loved that phone
