Nokia N73 Camera Issue (Washed out/Haze?)

Hey everyone, I've done a search on the site, but couldn't find anyone having the same issue as me.

Problem: Preview image looks washed out. Actual image is normal.

I just got the N73 and I'm wondering if this is normal. I've noticed that some people have a blue haze on some of their pictures that they take with the N73. My problem is similar, but its the preview on the screen that is washed out. The final image looks fine.

On my phone, the image on the screen looks like it's washed out/has a light blue haze over it. This is before taking the picture, when previewing the shot before it's taken. Once the picture is taken, the image looks fine. The lighting and the colours are accurate.

I thought it might be the scene modes or lighting modes, but adjusting it doesn't change anything. Another thing I noticed is that when I adjust the scene modes/white balance, it should show how the image looks with the new image settings. When I change the modes, in the preview area, you notice the scene mode/white balance change colors, but then it changes right back to the washed out look. Almost as if it's not really changing the mode at all.

The final image is fine, but it's a annoying not knowing how the colors/lighting will look before you take the shot. Could it be a firmware issue?

Hope that's not too confusing. Anyone experience this problem? Thanks!

aAre these night mode pics? Cause night mode in dark environments will have this issue but on the pics also not just the preview. If its on all pics no matter the lighting then that may be a phone issue but never had that problem myself.

You can always try flashing the firmware see if it helps just Google BB5 reaper for intructions and links to what you need

So far the pics I have taken are all inside, but with good lighting. The thing is, the pictures come out fine, it's just the viewfinder that looks washed out. The pictures end up looking a lot better than the preview in the viewfinder. The colors/lighting is different.

When you change the white balance, does it change in the preview?

i have the exact same problem too, figured it's a firmware problem since the phone does display the correct preview for like 1second before returning to its washed out look. all settings are automatic and the problem becomes very obvious when selecting white balance when u can see the thing happen.

will try reflashing a little later tonight, probably do an IE flash.
