I haven't used my Nokia 6030 much--it was originally just going to be for emergencies only (I literally used to keep it in the glove-compartment of the car--turned off!) Well, I'm doing consulting work now--and I'm getting more incoming calls (which means keeping it turned on--and wearing it...) Bleah.
I HATE the choices of ring tones that came with the phone--and was shocked when I learned that AT&T wants me to not only PAY for a new one (for $1.99??!) but it's only good for a YEAR?!
That's supreme BS, if you ask me... :flamemad:
Some research today has pointed me to ventones, and after MANUALLY putting in the URL (I couldn't get the phone to use the link from the text message), I managed to get an .mp3 I like downloaded into a "Tones" folder.
I can use that downloaded mp3 as an alert tone--but the 'incoming call alert' menu doesn't show that downloaded mp3--and doesn't seem to let me browse to it.
Do 'incoming call alert' tones have to be something other than .mp3s?
What could I be doing wrong here?
