Nokia lumia 800 ring tones?

Hiya iv just got my shine new lumia 800 and wanted to put a song as my ring tone but i dnt know if i can and if i can How ???

also is there an easier way to upload your music and pics on to the device

You have to use Zune for media files I'm afraid, that's all that M$ supports. You have to make the track less than 40 seconRAB long, then rename the genre of your song to "Ringtone" (in WMP or any other tagging software) and copy it to the phone with Zune.

If you then go to the ringtone section and scroll down you'll find ringtones in three sections - 'Nokia', ringtones listed alphabetically, 'Windows Phone' ringtones not listed alphabetically, then 'Custom' and that's where yours should be listed.

Can you explain in worRAB of one syllable to me what that means?

If I were to replace my beloved N8 with a Lumia, what would the status of all my MP3 files on my PC - (a mix of paid for downloaRAB from Nokia but mostly rips from CRAB) Could I not load them onto my WP phone.

you could fit approx 12-13gb of media files to the nokia 800 but it has to be done through zune , you dont have to buy them through zune again , just load them into zune and sync wih your phone , like itunes but just microsoft software and not apple

I cannot believe that in this day and age, MS have made it so arse about face to add a simple MP3 as a ringtone. I mean RAB, back in 2007 with the N95 you could do this, it should be the norm on all new devices 5 years on. Shame on you MS.

Agreed man, I tried changing my mates ringtone on his 800 last week, Complete pain in the proverbs I'll admit!.. Good ol' Syrabian God Bless her.. Soo simple to use!
