Nokia E75 vs E72

Hey, I am leaving the touchscreen phone world for a little bit. I am on AT&T (great in my area compared to tmobile). I have went through the iPhone 3GS, BB 9700, and Nexus one. I am kinda sick of touchscreen keyboards. The iPhone had a great keyboard but I would still have to look at the screen to type. Nexus one's keyboard was a bit too sensitive to mistakes meaning alot of "OMG he spelled *random word* wrong...what an idiot". The BB 9700 was great but I would rather pay the 15$ medianet plan than be forced to pay 30$. I was thinking of getting an E72 because I had the E71-2 at launch and really liked it. I was on tmobile at the time and wasnt able to use 3G, so I switched to the G1. Thats when I realized that Tmobile's 3G is really spotty in my area. I am looking forward to using the 3G on the E72, but have come across the E75. I like the idea of having a t9 keypad for quick replies when I am preoccupied to use the full QWERTY. I also like the idea of having a full QWERTY for typing long emails, text msgs or facebook posts. I am slightly torn between the two. Is the T9 really worth having a poopy battery? I am also worried about using the E75 with the QWERTY out since the Dpad is in an awkward place. I have read semi-biased opinions on both(people who own the E72 prefer it over the E75 despite not even trying it and vice versa). Anyone out there that has used both phones? I am currently using a nokia 6131 flip and I feel completely disconnected from the world. Please help :-)

I don't own any of the 2 but I have played with the e75 its a great device a bit old though. I think you should go with the E72 Since it comes with free turn by turn gps and it works with no service as well. better processor and camera. so to me thats a win having a free gps on your phone.

E72 has a lot of advantages:

- vastly better battery / battery life
- better multimedia features ranging from 5.0MP Camera to having great sound quality
- better feel and build quality
- faster processor
- faster 3G

I noticed you kept referring to the usefulness of the T9 for quick actions. The E72 pad is just as quick and easy to use.

so i went with the E72 and was happy with the form factor. What I wasn't happy with was the lack of advancement that s60 has done. it is still the same as when the E71 first came out. Facebook was worthless for it and the fact that you have to stay on the messaging screen in order for the text to FULLY send, is kinda annoying. I found the lack of apps, occasional lock-ups, lowered build quality, inaccurate battery meter and glitchy space bar to be disappointing. I sold the phone within 5 days of owning it and got the motorola milestone. Until nokia step's their game up with their OS, I am gonna steer clear of them. Thanks!

sounds like you just needed a reflash or something.

mine has worked just fine since day 1 with only the odd hiccup that required a restart. only problem ever was nokia messaging being down for a bit but it's all shiny and good now.
