Nokia E73 - Buying in Canada, using on Wind Mobile

Where did you get the speech from, is if from a file on your desktop to entitled, "Quick generic comeback for people who confront me on web forums.txt"?

To be fair, you were contributing to the conversation. Then at the end you felt that it would be a good time to interject your opinion of somehow being screwed by Nokia with no explanation and adding that the iPhone 4 has solved all of you woes, on a forum for Nokia products.
You were the first one to mention the iPhone 4 on this thread and I asked why. You haven't looked back, but here you are on this sub-forum for Nokia's.

I hope that you were able to understand my back country grammar in my post, as my grasp of proper English language is limited and/or I'm stupid.

For the incorrect voicemail numbers, the only way to change this number is to do a full *#7370 factory reset that erases everything. The first time that you try to dial your voicemail, the phone will either automatically set it up for you or allow you to enter the phone numbrer of your choice. It's nothing specific to just non T-Mobiles sim cards. There's just no way to change the number once it has been intitially programmed. It's also definitely not restricted to T-Mobile only voicemail retreival numbers. It's stuck to whatever number has been programmed into it until you perform a factory format.

you sure about this computer geek?

I've done many *7370 resets and also 3 key factory reset and the voicemail is still stuck...

Can you please confirm that you've done this yourself????

I really dont think you can set the voicemail....

* Reset E73 to factory settings - *#7370# - check
* wait for basic setup screen to appear - check
* hold down 1 to invoke voice mail - +16477001777 dials - check

There was no prompt to set this 16477001777 is Wind Mobile's number

Next test...

* Remove SIM card, put in another SIM card (SFR from France) - check
* hold down 1 to invoke voice mail - check

I was prompted for the VM number

So, chances are that the SIM card has something to do with this?

Got this resolved.. had to call tmobile... they sent me a OTA update or something like that

so now when i hold 1 it dials to the 805 tmobile voicemail number (805)mes-sage

100% certain. I have the phone myself. I have manually programmed in a Mobilicity voicemail retreival number. The first tiime that you hold the 1 key down to call your voicemail, you are forced to enter a phone number (which can be any number that you need it to be).

If the phone hasn't autodetected a voicemail retreival number from the sim card, it will ask you enter one. If it does autodetect a voicemail retreival numbered pre-programmed on the sim card, the phone should simply use it.

In any event, the phone is not "stuck" to T-mobile voicemail numbers (at least not with the most current firmware).

its based on the voicemail on the sim card...... if there is none on the simcard then you can enter your own.. If there is one then you can't change it..

pretty lame i think....
