Is there a way to improve the reception on nokia e70 phone
i know it have a strong radio coz the signals are always full but then they drop and comes right back up to full so was wondering if other people are having problems too with this and if someone have been able to come up with a solution to this problem

let me knw if anyone knows anything

In my experience the antenna signal indicator swings around an awful lot, but it doesn't seem to have much impact on actual call quality - which I find to be generally good. (ie, I can have a perfectly normal conversation while the signal indicator drops to 1 or 2 bars).

My E70-2 has horrible voice/call quality. The incoming volume constantly dips up and down, goes in and out, etc. Coming from a 6682 (best reception in a phone I have ever experienced), this phone is a huge let down. Like many have said in the forum concerning the E70-2: "I really wanted to like this phone...I wanted this phone to live up to the hype, etc...but I just don't like it"...I too share in their sentiments.

IMO, call quality in this phone is just not typical Nokia.

Thats interesting all right. Definitely not my experience. I wonder if its an 850 thing? Maybe nokia isn't putting much effort into the 850 reception... My coverage might be a little worse than my old moto v300, but overall call/voice quality is as good as any gsm phone i've used.

Guys, I've had N80 but sold it due to a horrible battery life. I miss the screen a lot, and was thinking about getting an E70. N80's external speaker volume is very loud, and it's one of the feautures really I like. How does the E70 speaker volume compare to N80's?

I think you've hit the nail right on the head.
My N80 has absolutely appalling 900 reception, but superb 1800 reception.
Solution : -

1. - Change to an 1800 provider

2. - Get an 1800 PAYGO SIM for incoming calls and a second, good 900 phone for outgoing calls on your contract SIM ... like I did.
A phone on each hip and a BT HS in each ear - not very practical, but that's how much I love my N80.
I look at it as a temporary cost/inconvenience until the N95 - which will hopefully have decent cross-board reception.

This is really interesting, i don't mean to discount anyone's experiences, and of course reception is a very geographically impacted experience, but I've been reviewing the E70 for my website and I put it through my standard reception test this weekend, I take it 50 miles outside of the city into the boonies. Frankly I was amazed at the phone's reception, its the best I've ever seen on a cellular phone. The previous best was the Cingular 2125, which would hold 1-2 bars and lose reception all together about half the time unless I stood still. With the E70 I had 2-4 bars, and almost never lost reception, even as I moved about.

Are you making/receiving calls during your testing or just watching the bar indicator? Bars are somewhat meaningless since the phone manufacturer can pretty much do whatever they want. The real question is what happens to your phone conversations as you move around.

This phone totally rocks reception wise in MHO. I have come to expect it from nokia tho. I have no complaints re: my e70-2. Regarding the other issues mentioned. My web browsers work great also . Opera mini works great. Yes , If I have lots of apps. going at the same time, guess what??? Something closes, gee who`da thunk it. I do the web, I take a call, hang up, go back to web, No problems here. I`m lovin this phone. Don`t understand your reception issues. Your either in a fringe area, using cingular or have a defective phone...
