Nokia E70 or wait for E80 in 2007?

Hey guys,

I am T-mobile 6800 user. I think it is a time for me to update the phone. I know Nokia E70 is perfect for me but there are two versions of that. E70-2 is suitable to use in USA. However, I do not want to miss an important feature, 3G, which E70-1 only has it. I will travel Europe and Japan next summer. I know these countries have 3G services.

I heard that T-mobile in USA would have 3G services next year. If it is true, then should I buy E70-1 right away?

Alternatively, should I wait for an incoming product from Nokia next year? That would be similar to E70 but more advanced features, such as quad band device, QWERTY, etc. perhaps E80?


Any thought?

The 3G that T-Mobile will start using in the US is different from the 3G supported by the E70-1. T-Mobile will be using the 1700MHz UMTS and the E70-1 uses the 2100MHz UMTS. If you're going to be using your phone more in the US than in Europe or Japan, I would suggest buying the E70-2, go without using any form of 3G service while you're in Europe and Japan, and then take a look at something T-Mobile offers for their 1700MHz UMTS when it becomes available.
