Nokia E62 for $ 50 on Premier (Brand New!)

Honestly I don't know if I had to extend my contract, but I have unlimited upgrades via my Premier account, so I could care less, lol.

The E62 is probably the slowest S60 that I've used to date. Even the unbranded version is slow. (Please don't ask how to unbrand it, the loophole was closed and isn't available anymore. If I find out otherwise I'll post)

As for speeding it up:

1. Set the Call Log size to 10 days, down from 30.
2. You can organize the menu however you wish (move stuff around, create folders, put folders within folders, etc) The more you can consolidate each screen's menu, the better. I.e. by default the screen shows 12 icons, 3x4. If you have more than this, it can slow it down (cause it has to load all those before you can do something.)
3. Close unnecessary apps in the background while working.

when i got mine E62 (not from Premier), i didnt have to sign up for a data plan either...

as for the speed of the E62, it surely is slow compared to my N73...the difference is night and day!

Oh me too. I love being able to upgrade 2 (or more) times a year. I also like that you get the after-rebate price on premiere (instantly) but then you can still send in for the rebate.
I got a Treo 680 (for my wife) for $50 after MIR. $375 - $25 For using the web - $100 instant for the data plan - $100 MIR = $50.1. Upgrade just about whenever you want. You don't need to be 'eligible' for a rebate (18 months in to your contract.)
2. No restrictions (other than complete your 2 year contract.)
Otherwise none. Premiere isn't always the best deal. The best benefit is getting upgrade discounts when you're not yet 'eligible'. Upgrade discounts are worth $175 and Premiere will give you $25 when you pick a new plan online. But you dont have to activate the new plan, you can just not call in and keep your existing plan.

Got my E62 today but bought mine off of Ebay and found that this is a great device.
Yes it is slower compared to a 400mhz device but its not much slower than my 8125.

The speakerphone is impressive!
When using it as a music player its a nice rich sound compared to the 8125. Not high pitched and whinny sounding.

Keyboard is excellent, much more so than the 8125. It's got a very good feedback feel to it and works even with my large fingers.
The Display is beautiful. The screen size is amazing and the built in browser is by far the best I have ever used.
Pretty neat feature with the pointer.

It is a bit on the wide side but fits my large hands very well.
Love the metal build and feels very solid.
I read that in order to gain access to the MiniSD card you have to take out the battery but that is not the case.
Just remove the cover and its right there on the left side.

Its going to take a few days to get use to it compared to using a WM device for the past 4 years but now I know why Symbian is so popular. Great interface...

To add my .02 cents....

the branded E62 is terrible compared with other Series 60 phones. The speed is tolerable, but to actually get full use of all the cool series 60 apps, you gotta get this thing unbranded!

Rcadden, you know I never thought about it like that. Yeah, I have run the gammet . In the past 6 months Ive used a Treo 750, BlackJack, Pearl, and 8800.

I went back the the pearl. The OS is amazingly stable, Ive never had to reboot.

The Treo went back bc it stopped ringing.

BJ went back bc of poor battery (other than that I loved the phone, maybe I should have picked up the extended batt)

The 8800 went back bc it felt like a brick and I missed the camera.

Just my .02

Enter your work or school email address to see if you qualify to use premiere. It's a special site for people who's work or school has a business plan with Cingular. it's just a web site (online store) like cingular.com's but with special pricing.

My company has a Cingular business account for it's employees but my email address doesn't qualify . Its weird because I was able to get a discount on my bill at the store. Any ideas why? My company gave me a Cingular 3125 phone to use.

Oh man oh man oh man... go to the Premier front page now- the E62 is FREE with a 2-yr.! I just checked out to test and sure enough, $0.00 in the checkout cart. FedEx Next Day at no cost as well.

Best mobile phone deal. Evar.
