I read a few reviews about the E61i, and they all seem to say that the phone is very solid in all respects. I was just wondering what people think about the upcoming BB curve, and if it might be better the the E61i. As of right now i'm leaning towards the nokia, because i'm really use to nokia's interface (and having Wi-fi doesn't hurt), but i have also heard good things about BB, eventhough i have never used one.

Nokia E61i has wifi, which IMHO is an awesome feature. BB, well, its extremely well designed and has a rock solid OS. The only BB i've used is the Pearl, and I loved the interface on it, which is replicated on the Curve.

Its the standard Symbian OS which I used on E62, from rogers. What are your uses for the phone?
BB is an awesome phone without wifi, E61i has blackberry connect if u plan to use it + wifi, and I use a wifi phone and consider it to be somewhat of a nice bonus feature.

mostly for emails, i've always used "regular" cell phones (using k790a right now), and really wanted to start using a "smartphone" for all the applications, so i would like something that wouldn't be to complicated for beginners.

well, if your getting a data plan, you can get either of the two, if ur not, get the E61i... i use my phones wifi to check my email on pocket outlook. Plus, you get to surf the web as well, for free.

Another possible consideration: the E61i does not support synchronizing category information (like calendar category or address book groups or task categories, etc.). The BB does support synchronizing categories within the address book, but BB does not support syncing categories in the calendar application because it does not support categories in the calendar at all.

So, in brief:

Categories in calendar: e61i -- yes; bb --- no
categories in address book: e61i -- yes; bb -- yes
synchronizing calendar categories: e61i, bb -- no
synchronizing address book categories: e61i -- no; bb -- yes

Yeah, I thought about getting around the category problem, and just decided to use the "company" field as a proxy for categories.

One of the cool things about the e61 is that you are able to auto sync it just by getting close to a computer you have set it to sync with via bluetooth. So, once you get it set up, you walk into your home, and it gets in range of the bluetooth, it will automatically start syncing for you.
