Nokia 6700 Slide debranding

Hello,

I have a (now unlocked) 6700 Slide. I would like to debrand it (get rid of the Rogers logo and music when I turn the phone on or off). What is the easiest way to do this?

I have come across a program called Phoenix in my searches but am unsure how to proceed down that road.

I have reinstalled the software through the Nokia PC updater but this did not do what I wanted.

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

I have done some more researching. I have come across two websites (a2phone being one) that charge ($8.00) for a download of Phoenix and the latest unbranded firmware for the Nokia 6700 Slide. Is a2phone legit? Why can't I download an unbranded firmware directly from Nokia? Is there anyway to extract the firmware from the Nokia Software Update install? Will a USB cable work for connecting the phone if I use Phoenix?

Thanks,

Tim

yeah, I want to know too.. hate the firmware on my rogers 6790, I am ready to pay $8 if there is some positive review on a2phone website.
