Nokia 6682 and SMS software

Any idea why third party SMS software is not supported with the 6682? I tried a couple of different (trial) programs from Handango to send SMS messages from my Dell Axim X51v through my 6682 and they send just fine but will not receive. Same goes for my MacBook using there Address Book software. In other words, when I receive an SMS message the phone gets it and the software is supposed to pop up a window with the message and it does not with the 6682. All of the software in question works fine using my 6230 just not with my 6682.

So I emailed one of the software vendors that I had downloaded the trial software from and they replied back that the 6682 is the cause of the problem. Anyone ever hear of this problem before? Do any other Nokia phones have this problem?
 
if you're using PC suite, you can send/receive through your PC, but it's slow as hell.

It probably works on your 6230 but not the 6682 cause the 6682 is Symbian S60 and the 6230 is not. THat's the only difference i can think of, honestly.
 
Thanks for the response. Guess it doesn't matter at this point as I've gotten rid of the 6682 now and picked up a Samsung A707 over the weekend. Now I have different issues with synching wuth my Mac but at least I'm enjoying 3G connectivity
