Wirelessly posted (Samsung X105: Nokia6600/1.0 (4.09.1) SymbianOS/7.0s Series60/2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0)

I just got my 6600 and when i put the sim in and went to contacts, it asked if i wanted to add them.

How do you move a file from email to your MMC? I beamed over a jpg via bluetooth and it only gave me the option to put it in folders under email.

FExplorer worked out great.

Now can anyone recommend a good case. I thinking more of something that looks good, gives easy access to plugs, and can proctect the LCD.

I'm thinking about the Krusell Classic Leather Case for Nokia. krusell case

Hi! I have a very old Nokia 6600 and I think it's starting to fail on me. From time to time I'm getting an "Insert Simcard" and "Please turn on this that blah blah blah" error message. I talked with some tech guy from rogers- he can't figure out what's wrong so he did what any phone-rep worth his salt would do- he refered me to, tadda, howardforums!

Other than that, I have a few more problems:I can't see whats inside my MMC using the "Gallery" but I can access it from the "File Manager". How to fix that?It takes 45seconds to "boot-up" my phone. Is that normal? Can I save or transfer the notes inside the, well, Notes? Coz I'm thinking of reformatting my phone but I dont want to loose my 2-3years worth of ideas there (to lazy to write it down)
Thanks in advance!

Do you have any pics with the correct extensions saved to the Gallery? If so and if you can't read it anyway, then your MMC might be corrupted somehow. 45 seconds sounds a bit long for the boot-up sequence but if you have a lot of apps installed then it might take some time for your 6600 to load things into the ROM/RAM during startup. The phone also needs some time to read any data on the MMC when it starts up.

Suggestion: See if the 6600 boots up faster with the MMC removed during startup and then try inserting once the 6600 is in standby mode.

Good Luck

Thanks TriBand81,

Pictures and videos that I've taken using the phone are the only things inside it. Ok, I think I have kept a computer font file or two in there before Is there a particular file in the root folder of the MMC that is used by the Gallery to read contents? If so, I might have removed it by accident (and is there a way of getting it back?)- I'm using a dazzle card reader to transfer files at least once a month.

The N6600 is similar to N6620. On the 6620, you cannot have the phone plugged into the charger and remove the battery. If you do that, the phone will shut off. So, essentially you cannot hot swap the MMC card.

Most phones that I have, I can have the phone plugged in to the wall charger and I can remove the battery. But not N6620

I highly recommend the Krusell case. I've had my 6600 in their case going on a year and it has held up wonderfully. The OEM case sucks. It exposes the screen to scratches whereas the Krussel protects the whole front.
