I got the phone today and i dont have a usb cable or a mini sd so i tried sending a short ringtone through a text message but when i open the msg it says object format not recognized or something like that. does anyone know why it wont work? its not a song its the ring from the guys phone in the movie crank.

What FILE FORMAT is the file? i.e., is it an .MP3 file?

The 6265i can assign ANY media it can play as a ringtone. See if the file plays at all.

yes it is an mp3. whats funny is my girlfriend has the kyocera remix and i sent the file to her phone in a text and she got it. so what i did was forward it to my phone from hers then i was able to get it. why is that? i shouldnt have to get my ringtones from another phone it should work on mine too right? thanks for any help.

yes i did use the email thing and when i got the message it said format not supported. but i emailed it to my girls phone and she got it. so i had to forward that from her phone to mine and thats how i was able to get it but what i want to know is why my phone wont work with the email thing.

Hi jguttz:

I'm tempted to tell you, use your girlfriend's phone, as it seems to do what you need! :p

Seriously, I would suggest you first read your printed and/or online manual for the Nokia 6265i to make sure you're using your features and services as designed. Some of your experience may be user error.

I'm a bit confused by something as you're not consistent in explaining what you're doing...You first stated that you sent an SMS to your phone with a short ringtone and you could not listen to it. Then, you later said that you sent this ringtone in an email to your girlfriend, then sent it to your phone and it worked fine, but how did you send it that time?

Generally, you should not erabed a ringtone in an SMS and should send it only via MMS or email with an attachment.

Therefore, I'd like to ask, how did you send this ringtone to your phone from your girlfriend's phone? Did you email it from her phone to yours or send it in another manner?

If you are confident that you're using your features/services as designed, then you may have a defective phone and should replace it.

try to BT the file over from the remix.

also doublecheck the file extension on the remix, sometimes it changes it to something weird.

ok nevermind it works now i guess it was just something on cricket's end. i had to call several times before they put in a trouble ticket and the next day it worked. @ loungelover what i meant was that id attach the ringtone or wallpaper to my email and send it to her phone through [email protected] and she'd get the message on her phone and be able to download it then id forward the text msg from her phone to mine and when i got the text from her phone i was able to download it that way. but not straight from my email to my phone. but it wasnt anything to do with my phone.
