Hi, I currently own an old Samsung A600 from Telus and was thinking about upgrading it. Can anyone tell me if Nokia 6265i is better or LG VX8500 (Chocolate)

I have heard from other threads that they both have low battery span, is that true? since I like to listen to MP3 from the phone

and also, it was told that MP3 cannot be assigned as ringtone? is there a solution for it?

if possible can anyone tell me the pros and cons of both phones?

I would go with the Nokia. I think you can send mp3's to yourself and assign them as ringtones that way. Plus the FM radio in addition to memory card makes for awesome music capability. Nokia reception is also top notch.

I can only attest to the 6265i, since I've never used the other phone you mention.

The battery life is OK, but I don't listen to MP3s with it, so no way of helping you there.

If I read correctly, here and elsewhere, Telus has blocked their 6265is from using MP3s, that do not come from them, but not the AAC format. Which you'd want to use anyway. AAC is much smaller than MP3, with better quality. If you need to convert your MP3s, do a Google for "super converter" (yes its free ware and yes use the quotes to make it the first site listed).

It is thicker than the Raz, but not too thick. It looks slimmer once you slide it open, and once you get used to that, you can start "flicking" it open with your thumb.

The only con I have found about it so far, is the door that holds the mini SD card seems very flimsy. So I just locked the card in and and leave it there. Using BT for all file transfers.

Hope this helps.

thanks a lot for the review

I like the 6265i too because I don't really prefer the Chocolate's look/style but since I looked at the review for the 6265i and heard that it has a low earpieces volume and the dust under the screen proble,

anyone having those problems?

any other reviews would be greatly appreciated

Thank you
