Nokia 6260 issues and Nokia is completely unhelpful

I purchased a Nokia 6260 back in September of last year and have been experiencing issues such as the device powering off a random times and taking an extremely long time to boot back up (30+ minutes sometimes) SIM rejected errors, etc. This phone was purchased from Mobilebee.com as Unlocked some im sure that it is not from the states. Whenever I contact Nokia about these issues they simply tell me to go to Nokia.com/customerservice and choose the country that it is originally from, the prob with that is that I don't know and they won't tell me (plus I can't read the Noka HK or other ASIAN countries websites) Are there any "Authorized" repair shops that could handle my situation for me since Nokia won't touch my device with a 10 ft pole? Thanks

Only suggestion is maybe do a full reset. On the main screen type in *#7370# (back up your important stuff first) and also format the memory card since things on it can also be causing the issue.

Re install everything from scratch. Once every few months its recommended to format everything. Makes the OS fast and run more smoothly

My mother-in-law has the 6260 also and given the languages on hers I would guess that it came from HK. If that's true you'd have to contact Nokia in HK for service.

seems like Nokia messed up with the 6260. My cell phone too powers off randomly. Formatted the cell - of no help to me. Nokia does not provide much support. I intend to go with other cells than Nokia for sometime now - till I start getting a good reviews again. I doubt the Nokia N's r free from this power off problem.

Nokia (and most other manufacturers) only warranty their devices in the country for which it was intended. You may check the packaging, or just go to the different region sites and punch in the IMEI, see what it says. You may also contact MobileBee.

Also, given that you purchased it in September of 05, it's out of warranty anyways (1 year from date of purchase). So you're probably going through more trouble that it's worth, cause you're going to be paying full price on whatever repairs you have to do.

I'd suggest the following:

1. Do a hard-reset of the phone as suggested above.

2. If that doesn't work, check to make sure you have the latest firmware. You can do this by typing *#0000# on your phone, and you want the number. Probably the best place to check is iUnlock.com. They can also do the flash for you, I'd highly suggest them. Top notch service.

Updating your firmware would probably solve your problem. If you're not familiar, firmware is the OS that runs your phone. As they find bugs/glitches, they'll release a new firmware that addresses those issues. Kinda like service packs for your computer.

And I've had the 6682, N80, and N73 (all released after the 6260) and had no random restart problems.
