Nokia 6235i Reset

Ok so I bought a Nokia 6235i on ebay and it looked alright. But when I turned it on it still had all the previous owners stuff on it. I went to go reset the phone to factory settings but I just get something saying enter the lock code. I tried 12345 and the last 4 numbers of the previous owners cell number. I have Metro PCS and have not activated the phone onto my account yet, could this be why? If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it!
 
The owners changed the lock code obviously, but there is no way to get around that other than getting the right code from the owners or having the phone re-flashed to factory.
