Nokia 6230 sim card problem

Well, no doubt we are up for a trip to the phone doctor but just figured would see if anyone else in here has had the same problem. This phone will not read the sim card, just has a message on the screen "insert sim card". We have tried a new battery & various sim cards, just gets the same message every time. Well, if anyone has any insight intop what this problem may be or maybe you have experienced this same problem and know what the fix was then we would love to hear from you. This is actually my daughters phone and she is giving me lots of grief, appreciate the feedback............!

i have the same question. its in a topic around here. somethign about cleaning the pins with alchhol. didnt work for me.. i have the same fone and same problem
 
Aran, I have also already tried that and probably everything else other than return to a repair shop. Just thought i would try a forum first but alas it's looking much like a trip to the surgery, and i bet that will just be the cheapest experience we have had for a while????????????

im goign to take mine to a market stall that deal with fones... ill tell u if i get a fix... prob sumthign stupid like the sim card reader beign upside down
