Nokia 6230 back cover problems

Hi,
I am stuck in deep **** trying to remove the back cover of my Nokia 6230.
I have been at it for about 2 hrs trying all sorts of tricks. The manual makes it look so simple - press the button and slide the cover off.
The button has now slid all the way under the cover with my hard efforts at pusing back exposing a metal clip.
Is there anything I can do to get this off?

lol took me a while to get ma cover off as well

what i do is

with ma right thumb press the button, and holding the button down push ma left palm upwards on the back cover

shud come off easily enough
