I had a friend who had two parties the past two weekends. First weekend was a communion party as she became a Godmother again, and the second one was for her husband getting his citizenship and his birthday. Both parties had DJ's at them, playing latin/mexican party music.
The party was outdoors, and supposedly a neighbor, who's a little over half a mile complained to the Sheriff's office for the County. A K9 cop showed up, Asked her to turn down the music, which the DJ did, and Sheriff drove by little while later and said it was ok, music was at a good level. The next week another Sheriff showed up. He was a rude to her, in her opinion. Told her I'm writing you a ticket for another complaint. A separate week altogether. He said I want your social security number. She told them I don't give that out to nobody. I wouldn't even give that out to a cop. ( I think she's being targeted cause she's hispanic) She even told him that she had her license in the house. Then he asked do you have a permit for that barn you're building, which she does. She even asked about a permit, which he didn't even answer. She's never had any problems before until now, don't know cause someone has a grudge against her or what.
Anyways, she got a ticket, 85 bucks, but she has to go to court, and it's a Misdeminor 2, He even said you need to bring bail money. She doesn't make that type of money, and she's afraid of jail. I would go to support her but I work, and so does her husband.
And I looked in the State law since Franklin County goes by State laws, and not city, nothing about in the noise ordinance about music or parties from what I can tell, and either she's lying to me about the level of music or the person who called from this street that's .6 miles away just wanted to complain
If she pleads not guilty, will she most likely go to jail. She's afraid, as she was just trying to get out of the normal everyday problems by throwing a party at her house outside, for her husband and for her Goddaughter
