noise in 1998 pontiac sunfire?

i have a noise in my 1998 sunfire 2200 it sounds like a knock but it dosent do it when its in park or neutral but when driving it speed up with the speed of the car or higher rpm would it be a cv shaft or the tranny or what?
 
A CV joint is more noticeable when you are turning as the joint is under load. A transmission noise will vary with ground speed normally.
It could be the big end bearings, they will "Knock" when the engine is under-load, especially when in to high a gear, and the motor is chugging.
