noaa on shortwave radio frequencies?

I just bought a Grundig G8 AM/FM/LW/SW receiver. I have noticed that NOAA weather radio can be heard on a majority of the SW bands, knowing that NOAA broadcasts on around 160mhz and I can receive NOAA broadcasts on 3.240khz and, sometimes, on other frequencies is confusing me. Whats going on?
