Ok, so I bought a new wireless pci card. I bought a DWA 556 D-link pci express card. This was supposed to replace my Asus wireless card.
I removed the asus wireless card and installed the dlink one. I turned on the system and no wireless networks were detected. I tried installing the dlink software and updating the drivers but nothing worked. All windows could diagnose was that "there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter."
I removed the card and placed my asus card back in. I then removed the asus card from the device manager. I plugged in the dlink card but it still did not work.
Thinking the card just wasn't compatible with my router, i removed it and installed my asus card again. However, now my asus card is giving me the same error and it cannot detect a wireless network...
am i going to have to do a complete system reboot just to get a wireless card to work or something?
