I would love them to have Poison Ivy as a villain.
Even though Batman and Robin was absolute rubbish, Poison Ivy is a great villainess and I'd like to see how they would handle her character in this series of Batman movies, as they did such a good job with the Joker.
Catwoman also has to make an appearance in the next movie/s, I don't care about the Penguin, Catwoman is a must. Other than that, they should introduce villains that haven't been seen before in a Batman movie.
;26108605']As much as Catwoman, the Penguin, The Riddler, Poison Ivy etc are among the best know villans in the Batman stories, they have all been done. I think I'd really like to see what Nolan and the team can do with some of the less well know villans:
Perhaps one of these:
Ventriloquist and Scarface
Hugo Strange
Hush
If a villianess is required then Harley Quinn would do nicely, she could take over where the Joker left off.
no spoliers PLZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i havent seen DK yet.
but am curious to know who would be next inline to star as the major villian in the next batman after DK.
the 1st franchise had
joker
peguin-catwoman
two-face-riddler
mr frezze-ivy
i dont think penguin, catwoman, ivy or freeze would be suited to this world/style of batman movies.
from what ive heard two-face is setup in this for the 3rd
i think the riddler would be good in a sinister/darker/NON JIMCARRY way much like the joker in dark knight but the two are very similer arnt they?
i just hope if nolan bros do it again it wont be overblown like spidey3
Yep. If you want an actress to play a black leather-wearing anti-hero, go for Beckinsale.
It's already been made public that it's going to be Johnny Depp as The Riddler, so no point in debating about it anymore. Which would probably have been the case if Tim Burton had carried on directing them rather than passing the buck over to Joel Schumacher anyway.
They may introduce a secondary character, and if they do, it probably will be Catwoman.
I always thought Robin Williams should have played The Riddler in the nineties, rather than Jim Carrey. But it wasn't to be.
Howzabout Arnie as Mr Freeze? That'd be good...[/QUOTE]
I like your sense of humour. But in case you're not joking, Mr Freeze would in no way fit in a Nolan Batman movie.
Oh and as for the spoiler, that is not on record. It is no different to all the other times that names get thrown into the mix as to who is going to play a villain. I don't think for one scond that is going to happen. It doesn't fit at all with Nolan's way of doing things.
The comic book that I think the sequel would be based on
suggests that Two Face would need to return, but CN told AE that Harvey was dead
From what I hear the Joker was meant to be coming back for the third one (I'd guess if that was the plan Harley Quinn might have popped up in that film - no way to know now), no idea how they'll play the third one now.
Depp is a really good actor but he seems to be stuck in a rut and his characters in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd are little more than retreaRAB of Jack Sparrow. I'd expect his portrayal of The Riddler to follow in the same vein and, frankly, i'm bored of him doing the same character in every movie the last 4 years.
As much as I love Johhny Depp to bits (a big Fan of his actually as well as Tim Burton's) I really don't think he'll fit in, seems way too much of an obvious Casting to me and Chris Nolan so far hasn't done obvious.
As far as I know he'll either use a relatively unknown Actor (e.g. Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two-Face) OR someone we least expect (e.g. Heath Ledger as The Joker).
To be honest I'd really like to see Two-Face come back in the 3rd Film but then that's just me.
In fact I think it'd be fantastic for both him and The Joker to come back together since those 2 are my personal favorite "Batman" Villians and were both so excellent in this Filmbut unfornately and very sadly I doubt the latter will ever come back.
Obviously it's Chris Nolan who'd end up making the final desicion but for now I personally am really hoping he brings Two-Face back again.
To fit in Nolan's world it would have to be Pison Ivy minus the ability to manipulate plants and without all the 'magical powers'. So more or less an eco-warrior turned bad. So would that be Poison Ivy? I guess if her powers are explained in a similar way to the Scarecrows, just an ordinary dude with some very potent drugs.
Exactly! I wish people would stop all this Johnny Depp rubbish. He will never be in the next Batman film. Why? Because Christopher Nolan doesn't need him! Simple as that!
childhood friend obviously adjusting to his story would have to be made.
maybe nolan will be sensible and just have two-face i have a feeling his master plan though was probly for joker/ledger to repear near the last half of the 3rd one for an almighty battle with joker and two-face to send his franchise out.
of course me assumeing he has not done that bit already in TDK ooo i cant wait now
NO SPOILERS PEOPS REMEMBA
You're right Red-Eye. Casting big names harks back to Schumacher's MO rather than Nolan's. And as Batman & Robin showed, sometimes 'name actors' aren't enough to draw in the
Would be interesting, but I think they would need the Joker in it too. As much as I like Harley, she is a relatively new creation from Batman the Animated Series. I'd like to see a good old comic book villain get the Nolan treatment.
