Hi, I'm very used to the back pain that I've had for the past decade but recently after a week of excruciating pain suddenly the pain has gone. I

WOW! What a blessing. Count yourself very lucky. My guess would be that either something shifted or the pressure has been removed, and so then has the pain. Whatever happened to induce that bad week evidently caused you good results on the other end!

Amen!! Do conceder yourself lucky, like ibake&pray said something either moved or the swelling has finally went down. You are a very lucky person and I pray it stays that way for you.

Tatler...I just posted the same the same question a few days ago...Anyone have pain suddenly disappear?

Mine did too after years and years of it it just disappeared about 18 months ago but now I've got symptoms of bowel and bladder problems and I'm wondering if the nerves have just quit producing pain signals on me. I know I wasn't suddenly "cured". And I had a similar thing happen with my neck....all the pain went away slowly but surely only to be replaced with lack of muscle function and very slow nurabness......almost imperceptible changes.

Everyone thinks we are so lucky to be out of pain but I know for me and my neck, it was a very bad sign.

And I wondered if anyone else had a similar problem with their lurabar spine and what was the result. Maybe you and I will find out together.

I hope and pray for you it's just good news....I see my neurosurgeon in 2 weeks and will find out just how good or bad the lack of pain is.

To jenny and tatler, There is someone on the boarRAB that became pain free after years of chronic pain. I think her username was "jRABun". However, I'm not sure, maybe others can chime in. Hers is a long story, but I remeraber after they took her last ovary out (they had previously taken most or all of her female organs out), her pain began to slowly diminish. Miracle? or did it have something to do with that ovary? The doctors didn't even know. I think that ovary was pressing on something(a nerve maybe?) that gave her all that pain....janiee

Thanks but Tatler is a guy and I had my ovaries removed in 1982 so that's not it.

I just want to know if nerves can be so compressed for just so long before they give up hurting but can still have function...even if it seems to be diminishing.

Has to be an answer somewhere.

It still feels pretty ok, I've revamped my wifes bathroom and have filled a skip with junk from the shed with no problems, but I'm being extra careful with heavy items.I don't want to go through that again.

Thinking again...something has changed, I stopped getting injected in my lower back with schizophrenia meRAB a few months ago. I'm wondering if five years of injections in the lower back had weakend the supporting muscles and now they have started to recover?

anyway...thanks for the replies.
