@TBong OK that was probably the most neutral post that you have made in a while (by your standards). Please stay more down this path.
Most of the noobs that forget to disable the lag on their phones are former Apple users and then go crying for help, but the test score before the fix and after the fix and the real world usage are night and day better. This should have been fixed from the beginning.
Symbian is not dead, it looks bad because of the rise of Android and the major dry spell that Nokia had this year but it's not dead. However let's see where it's at after the launch of the e7/c7 and the major upgrades that all three phones are planning to implement.
^ Better yet let's see where Symbian is at the end of 2011, because IMO 2011 will be the most critical year for both Symbian and Nokia (along with Meego's initial reviews).
As for Hacks/Mods obviously Symbian cannot compete with Android's open source which is why Meego is being developed. However there will be hacks/mods for the N8 just there were for the N97 (Like the video Below):

Finally there is nothing wrong with being a fan of an OS. I enjoy using BOTH Symbian and Android, but at the same time they are both far from perfect which is why one will be the right solution for one person and not another. I totally get that you are upset with Nokia (especially with the N97 experience) but I also know that if you gave an Android device to a N8 user, it's not going to mean that they are going to embrace it like you did because their needs are different than yours...
