No More Popeye's $,99 Leg and Thigh Tuesday!

I went to Popeye's yesterday and they informed me that, after over 4
years, they no longer have the $.99 Leg and Thigh Special on
Tuesdays.

Flags all over the U.S. were at half mast yesterday.

I didn't try the Church's next door but I suspect they'll be following
suit shortly.

Californians take it in the back door.

Both the Popeye's I go to have a Church's Chicken within 50 yards.
And another Church's has a Golden Chick next to it. And a KFC has a
El Pollo Rico next to it.

Birds of a feather...

Your definition of leg is incorrect. A leg is only the portion
between the knee to the ankle. Whether it be turkey, chicken, or
human.

Who knew? Not you.

I suppose when you order wings, you call the cops since you only get
half the number of wings you ordered.

Not in any of my grocery stores. Those are universally called

That's right, you shop at the Conspiracy Grocery Store; the same
outfit that gives you two dimes and a nickel rather than a quarter.

Quite often when I see them on sale there are huge wads of fat and extra
skin a attached. By the time the excess is removed and/or rendered out,
the cost per pound of edibles increases. I have learned to check
carefully to make sure that it really is a good deal.

Chucken leg? As in throwing food? Are we throwing for accuracy or
distance?I'd rather chuck thighs downfield. I imagine they would fly more
accurately. OTOH it might be possible to boomerang a leg quarter.

I wish we got to see these exotic products in Canadian grocery
stores- how would one cook a raw "chucken" leg? How big is it?
What kind of animal does it come from? (A "chucken" probably but I've
never seen or heard of one of them critters).

Apparently both of them discontinued the 2pc dark special in the same
week, if not the same day. I wonder if they colluded together to end
their specials at the same time. One says to the other, "Lets end
this thing. We're both losing money and this has gone on too long".
Neither of them wanted to pull the deal and admit defeat, sending
customers to the competitor.

Wouldn't that be price fixing? Maybe a congressional investigation is
in order (right after they investigate Obama's suspicious Birth
Certificate)

Don't you mean they're holy owned by the same company? This is great
news cause Church's chicken is too juicy while Pope_yes is too dry.
Together, their water content is just about right. Thanks Jesus! :-)

POOP is precisely what it is!

WTF would any sane person want to pay those outrageous prices for
overly breaded, greazy, fried dwarf pigeon parts?!?!? Everytime I see
that Lucy-Anna ad on TV her pandering to the low IQ accent/syntax
makes me gack... and what they're selling looks exactly like the
clumps I scoop from cat pans, even served in disposable litter pans.

At least their affiliation to the HRCC remains intact - no man or beast
or corporation shall change that. I used to eat Church's chicken decades
ago. I liked the giant corn on the cob they served. My memories of the
chicken is not so fond. I'm not sure why - maybe it's because they used
a lot of MSG? I think MSG is great stuff but they may have used too
much. Churches used to be prominent in Hawaii but now they've retreated
to low rent shopping malls.

I used to like Pioneer chicken cause it was red. Mostly I remember it as
chicken meal that had a lot of sugar in it. Back then, we pretty much
ate anything.

I don't much care for Church's either. The Zippy's downstairs used to
serve pretty good chicken. It was a fried thigh and it's sort of
semi-famous in this state. Then the pieces got smaller and that was bad.
Then the pieces got bigger and it was good. Now the pieces are small
again and I'm confused. I'm moving my office downstairs next to Zippy's
so it would be great if they could make their pieces bigger to
commemorate this event. :-)
