No image from my PS3 slim, each time i restart it...?

When i do the manual reset (holding power button until i hear the 2 beeps), it works fine and sets up my TV to its optimal resolution 1080i. I'm using a PS3 certified HDMI cable and i did set up the system as directed. But if i try to turn it off and then on, same problem happens each time and i get no image or sound... HELP please.
ps. i have already tried going to the Output Setting and selecting HDMI and all that... still, turning it off and on results in a blank screen (TV detects no input)
 
When it working after the reset, go to settings and then output settings, make sure you have hdmi cable checked, you can also set the optimum display settings, it may be that it's trying to ouput a setting that your tv is not capable of receiving.

the same for the sound, there is an audio option, make sure this is set to hdmi.

Other than that, see if you can borrow an hdmi cable you know is definately working correctly, maybe from someone else with a ps3.
