No Ducati Works WSBK for 2011

I figured that this was coming. After how the year has gone, this will be a good way to get FIM to the rules a bit for Ducati. This also will allow Ducati to come out with one hell of a bike in 2012.

Royally sucks balls. Looks like they are gonna pour money into GP and Rossi as well as develop a new bike for 2012 that will smoke everyone.

As for Pegram, he own's his own team and I don't think he has any backing anymore.

They had to cut the budget somewhere to get enough to pay Rossi. WSBK sucks as a whole anyway, especially the Speed presentation? They have the worst commentators, video quality, pre / post race shows, etc. WSBK might be a good thing for the sport, but NO ONE is helping the world to see it, especially Speed.

Huh. I think WSBK is the best show on Speed. John Green is a Hoot, and Steve Marten knows his shit AND keeps Johnny honest. Is not in HD, but neither is my DTV, so I dont care yet.

I've heard FIM makes Ducati use a restrictor plate on the intake to keep a level playing field.. IF this is true, obviously the other's (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Aprilia, BMW) technology has caught up with Ducati when it comes to making BIG power and, it's ruining Ducati's competitiveness.

I also agree with JohnnyDuc... due to economic times and the company being less than a 1/4 of the size of the others, I don't believe Ducati has the financial backing required to support both a factory WSBK team and a MotoGP team... my .02$

Ducati is making this move to get WSBK to change the rules in favor of them. The whole series, over it's history has always been unfairly in favor of the Ducati. Remember a couple of years ago it was a Ducati parade. Boring. Now that Ducati is paying a lot of money to watch the Aprilia's win, they are A)taking their ball and going home and B) putting all their eggs into the MotoGP basket.

And JohnnyDuc, We see a lot more direct benefit to our street bikes from MotoGP than we ever do or did from WSBK. Sure the XX98's were developed to win WSBK but a lot of the tech came from MotoGP.

I wouldn't be surprised to see WSBK die and those resources get thrown into Moto2. (which would make me sad because then MMP wouldn't get to host WSBK anymore).
