No computers have recognised my camcorder? Its a panasonic sdr-h81, newly brought.?

i tried it at school and at home, the camera just stays blank

and the usb slot in beneath the battery so i have to take the battery out to put the wire in

i installed the cd for it too. i dont know why it wont work...
