no business reference?

Is it ok to leave the business reference blank in my application? This is my first time applying for a job so i cant really put anyone down.
 
Depending how old you are.
If you are 30 and no job references I doubt if any one would hire you,but if you are young and this is you first job state this on the application and the reason why you haven't had a job.ie: just graduated from high school and the like
