I loved the series, it was so charming. I've just looked on the website and apparently there are no new episodes scheduled, which I take to mean there will not be another series. Has anyone else heard differently?
There was something in the papers a few weeks back about Alexander McCall Smith, and he'd apparently indicated that 2 more television movies were being done.
Not sure how accurate that is, of course, but maybe it can give you some hope at least!
The series didn't seem to have the charm and whimsy of the pilot. Wasn't it also something to do with the sudden death of Anthony Minghella who directed the pilot ?
I enjoyed the series too. The pilot was beautifully filmed and a class above to be honest, but i agree with you the picture of Africa shown as day to day living in the series was very different to anything I had seen before.
There were supposed to be 13 episodes and the loose enRAB clearly demostrated the plug being pulled.
I so loved this show, especially because it never started with that dreaful phrase 'This programme contains strong language', plus it was beautfully filmed with characters you got to care about,
