Final Fantasy (12 titles)
Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2 (action rpg)
Dragon Quest 8 (action rpg)
King of Hearts, King of Hearts 2 (action rpg)
Shadow Hearts (3 different titles)
You also have your Suikodens, Xenosagas, Phantasy Star Universe, your fighting RPGs (Devil May Cry (3 different titles), the Samurai type of games, etc.), Lord of the Rings, Bard's Tales, all the stargedy RPGs, Marvel (X-Men) and DC (League of Super Heroes) RPG fighting games, Tensui 'something other' RPGs (3 titles), etc.
I thought that Xenosaga III was too constricted, you ended up running through corridors. But there are people who absolutely love the series. I rented some RPG and there was this little Japanese girl who would always yell out something like, "Yeah! We did it!" and it became very aggreviating after two or three fights. I fired Phantsy Star Universe and basically took it back the next day.
But on the XB360 you basically have abaout 20 RPGs. I have only seen 2, "Jade" something or other (NOT JAde's Caccoon, which is a PS2 rpg) and Fable 2 (???, Fable mnay only be an Xbox title, Fable 2 may be an XB360 title).
So, yes, there are more to RPGs than the Game Cubes Final Fantasy Chronicles type of games where the characters move in groups, where the camera angle is 45 degrees. Open ended RPGs play more like Zelda - free roaming. Breath of Fire (PS2) while looking nice is not my kind of game because it is endless corridors that all look the same. Some people like Zelda because there are no ramdom battles every 5 feet and there is no re-spawning. So you can explore to your contentment, like you would in a Tomb Raider game. The A.I. is not so smart that they will chase you through two or three room or 2 levels. So you can relax a little more.
