Nintendo DS and Gameboy?

Me and my brother were arguing about the Nintendo DS. He says it's a Gameboy and I say it's not, it just emulates Gameboy games. If it were a Gameboy, the name would be "Nintendo Gameboy (Advance) DS (Lite)", but it doesn't. I need some answers so I can shove it in his face.

Technically, it's not a gameboy because it does not have the word gameboy in it.
