Nikon 50mm f/1.4G SIC SW Prime For Night Photography?

We travel quite a bit and I am looking for a good lense for night photography and landscapes at night. What does everyone think about this lense for that? I have a Nikon D40x. Saw a cheaper one that had no autofocus...but thinking thats pretty important.

Yep, it should work fine and is an excellent lens for low light and portraiture. However, 50mm is a bit long on a DX camera, though it is well suited towards portraiture. You might want to consider the 35mm f/1.8G, which is around half the price and almost as good.
