Hi all, watched this Russian Vampire film the other night (think it was shown on FilmFour) and it was excellent, I really want to see the follow up Daywatch now but can't find it anywhere?? Has anyone seen it in the shops in the UK? I believe the final part is now going to be in english and filmed in the states due to Fox buying the rights or something.

According to some of the threaRAB on imdb.com should be out by christmas.

Edit: There are DVDrip versions lurking on torrent sites, Russian film with english subs.

It's out on Russian dvd with English subtitles, so if you look around on the net for russian dvRAB sites, you might be able to order it. If I remember the site I will put it up here.

It's getting a region 1(American) dvd release on the 30th October.

Try reading the original novels by Sergei Lukyanenko upon which the films are based. 'The Night Watch', 'The Day Watch' and 'The Twilight Watch' are all readily available in this country.

However good you think the films are these are much better. Highly recommended.

The Night Watch movie also makes much more sense after you've read the book.

It's a pretty good film, completely different from anything I've ever seen.

I like the movie and think the books were great - much prefer the books. I'll be interested to see the second movie because I thought the first crossed over into the second book & also that some significant plot points were different.

It was an excellent movie. Saw it a few months back and I really thought it was better than most movies of the same genre. Looking forward to the sequel.

I bought the r2 dvd of this the other and loved the film. However, I'm wondering if there is a better version available as the Eng subs didn't work. I insist watching with subs and not dubs. The options were:

1.Eng subs for hard of hearing
2. Eng subs
3. English commentary from director
4. English commentary by book author

I ended up watching (1) as (2) didn't seem to do anything. (1) was ok, but a bit annoying as it added in thinks like [old woman gasps] etc.

It was a Fox release, so wonder if the yanks have buggered around with it? I can't understand why option (2) didn't work!!!

I saw a preview of Daywatch earlier this year. The audience had to fill in a questionnaire saying what they thought of it so it'll be interesting to see if it's changed. Also, I thought there was going to be a third film but Daywatch pretty much wraps everything up.

Look out for the scene where..
a car jumps off the road and runs along an office block.
Really impressive stuff.
