Nicholas Sparks. Books to Movies?

Let me start off by saying Nicholas sparks has been my favourite romance genre author since I was 12-13. Now I've read most of his books... there is still I think two or three I have left to read. Don't kill me if I get the names wrong but I think they're called The Guardian, A walk to Remember and A bend in the road... Now I know the first two are by him, but the 3rd one I'm not 100% anywaysssssss.



Question:
A walk to remember is one of my favourite movies, is the book even better then the movie or does the movie overpowder it?
 
I preferred the book, but then again I nearly always like the book better than the film.

I think that even if you prefer the movie, you'd still enjoy reading the book.
