NHL 10- Add players into be a gm mode?

I'm 3 yrs. into my be a gm mode, but ea JUST added abbotsford heat defensemen Keith Aullie into the game. Is there any way to add him into my current be a gm mode?
 
You can't add any players once you have started your GM mode.
You have to start one over to get new players.
