so my power button on my n1 is gone.. wont work at all.. made a call to htc for a replacement.. got the replacement... didnt like it, screens edge was a lil off, pure refurb... so i sent it back living with " quick reboot " and "rom manager" to reboot and go into recovery...
anyhow i happened to brick my phone, or lets just call it what it really was " INFINITE BOOT LOOP"
i said "ahh whatever.. ill just boot into bootloader by holding volume down, go into recovery, WIPE, and nandroid restore" lol.... ok first of all theres no power button so to get out of the infinite boot loop u have to take out the battery... but then how da heck do u turn the phone back on with no power button!!!!, and simms comes into the picture... "PLUG UR PHONE IN, TAKE OUT THE BATT, PUT IT BACK IN BEFORE THE LED LIGHT FLASHES BACK" bam!! phone turns on, i hold volume down, kicks me into bootloader... but now i feel lost again becaus in order to select RECOVERY from there i need my power button which is the only way we can selec from bootloader ( this needs to be changed to track ball select ) darn it!!!
what to do.. bam here comes Djunio into the pic.. "easy fix juan, ADB" and im like YES!! lol. i was in there like swimwear, typed in "fastboot devices" and nothing..
danm couldnt do anything... because i needed to be in fastboot mode in order to run commands from adb... and the only way to select fastboot is from bootloader and the only button to do that with is the power button.... im out of luck... or so i thought
then simms comes back, boot while holding the trackball!, bam!
fastboot in full effect... im mad happy right... i go into adb and type the command "fastboot devices" and my phones there yay, next i try to get it to boot into recovery from adb but no luck, looked for commands and try a bunch of stuff but nothing... i was ooon that for a few hrs lol... even plugged the g1 in and played with adb on it...
i couldnt find a freaking command to boot into recovery, i tried wiping from adb but didnt work.. "FAIL" it said..
then it hits me " u can use adb from the bootloop" djunio said to me ( by now hes sleeping, and so is simms )
so then i go do the batt trick to turn my phone on.... bootlooping...
i run adb.. type in commands.. "adb shell reboot recovery".. and my phone turned off and bam glorious black and green from RA recovery appeared.. ahhhhhh... anyways the moral of the story is, if ur keeping ur nexus and ur power button is gone.. and u have a bad few hrs.. dont worry about it ur good.. this phones ( ANDROID ) can not be messed up by software at all! the only way to brick is freaking messing up the bootloader i believe. cus even if u flash a bad radio image all u need to do is go into recovery and flash a new one or the right one...
that was fun...
