Hi everyone. So I got my Nexus One screen replaced recently, only to notice the haptic feedback vibration on the screen wasn't working, and soon after (within the same day I got it back from the repair shop) the vibrator in the phone stopped working completely. Even with my shattered screen, it was still working just fine--the problem with the vibrator only started once I got it BACK from the local repair shop. I took it into the shop again, but the owner said he didn't know why it wasn't working and that maybe it just needed to be replaced.
Well obviously I think this shop guy broke my vibrator in the process of repairing my screen. The problem lies in the fact that he's the only one who runs the shop and is the sole authority of the business, and he's acting as though it wasn't his fault, or at least he was yesterday. Not wanting to deal with him and make threats concerning the Better Business Bureau, I called HTC because my warranty expires this month.
HTC said they would fix it and that the vibrator itself was under warranty, as long as the phone hadn't received damage that would void the warranty. I checked inside the phone, and I have no water damage or anything. My only concern is that somehow the repair guy messed up the inside of the phone and that they'll realize that once I send it in, and then they won't repair it and will make me pay for the shipping and everything.
SO, among asking for other advice concerning the situation, my main question was does anyone know how long it takes for the vibrator on a phone to go out on it's own? Is the repair guy possibly telling the truth and had nothing to do with it? It seems unlikely, but it's actually what I'm hoping for so I can just have HTC fix it. Also, keep in mind that the vibrator literally went out and died within a day, the same day I got it back from the shop. I told HTC that I had the screen replaced a few months ago, but I'm wondering if they open it if they'll be able to tell he ruined it somehow.
But then again, the vibrator was working pretty weakly for about an hour before dying. So wouldn't they just find a dead motor if they opened it up? Ugh anyway, I have no idea what I'm saying any longer and I apologize for the complexity of the issue, but if anyone can offer advice or help me out I would appreciate it so much!
