Nextel/iDEN a good choice for personal use?

I'm still considering Nextel. Would it be a good choice for a phone for personal use? The reason i'm considering Nextel is because I heard they have decent to good coverage, and their phones are durable (most of them).

So Tmobile is not getting good coverage for you? I rather go with Sprint then Nextel...Or wait...hmmm aren't they combined now?
