Just got my i875, I love everything about it except the stupid card reader. I've searched every forum possible and trie devery advice, solution, trick, etc....but it doesn't work for beans...anyway everything else speaker sound is decent, although you can't produce high quality ringtones, the camera, i guess is OK for a camera phone, the features in the Boost phone are awesome though

anyway that was my rant

i875 is the Boost version. My personal opinion is the i870 is one step ahead with the bluetooth. I feel the i930 is overpriced, the only reason to get it is if you want a windows os.

These two are almost identical, of course Boost phones have a more stylish contour design on the keys, and usually are just cooler looking in general. I didn't realize the i875 was missing bluetooth, but aside from that I've read in other threads that the i875 is not upgradeable like the i870. Apparently none of the Boost phones are upgradeable, from what I've read elsewhere.

I did see where one person bought an i875, took it apart, and put the faceplate from the boost phone onto his i870 and that apparently worked, if you want to spend $200+ on a phone you're going to destroy. If you really want to put your Nextel SIM in a Boost phone, an authorized Nextel dealer can unlock the i875 for you, as long as both the phone and the SIM are registered in your name. They will also charge you a fee to unlock the phone, but having them do it for you is the only legal way to unlock an iDEN phone.

EDIT: After I posted this reply, I went to boostmobile.com and looked at the i875 features page. IT DOES HAVE BLUETOOTH just like the i870. Look HERE.

Oops, sorry about the misunderstanding there! For future reference, quoting the post you are replying to will avoid confusion and clarify to whom your response is directed :).

@ cell_angel: Perhaps www.phonescoop.com can help you make the decision on which phone has the features you need. First, put the model # of the first phone into the search box there at the top of the page, and on the next page below the picture of the phone you will see a link you can use to compare two or more phones and their features side-by-side :D.

EDIT: Click here to compare i870 vs i930

In case you're talking about me, I didn't destroy anything. I bought a nextel i870 for pretty cheap that has a dead board but screen/camera worked and I just swapped in the boost board then put stuck on the covers/stickers from the boost phone to make it stand out a bit from the crowd.

Aha, there you go! I did think about that after I posted, that one could probably get a non-working phone from ebay and do what you did fairly inexpensively. That was a great idea, and now that we've discussed it in the thread hopefully your idea will be helpful to others as well :)

I'm just hoping one day I'll eventually find a working board for cheap and I'll be able to just swap it in and have 2 custom looking phones both of which I got fairly cheap. My original Boost i875 purchase was for $320 shipped *unlocked but otherwise unused but I was able to use a $25 off ebay coupon so I only paid $295 and got VERY LUCKY by not getting charged duties either... I think that's a pretty sweet no contract price getting the phone almost as soon as it was released!
