Not necessarily. I have found in the past that GP's are not particularly insightful or as intelligent as many people make them out to be. There is also a vested financial interest in the doctors keeping me on the drug as its prescription only, and who do you think regularly prescribes the medication after an expensive consult?
There haven't been any changes in years, and the drug never caused diarrhea, ab pain, or irregularity. I have been over weight for years now though, and perhaps that it part of the solution as excess abdominal weight can cause acid reflux.
I take a multi-vitamin everyday, and have tried probiotics in the past with no noticeable difference.
I have already engaged this enemy and was sent running for the hills each time
My goal is to eliminate Nexium from my life altogether.
Agreed.
Since Christmas I have begun extending the dosage, 20mg which on average I can extend to 32 hours instead of 24. I have been keeping a log since New Year's Eve.
Longest stretch between doses has been about 45 hours, although usually 32 hours is the norm. I must adjust my diet to get rid of soft drinks and coffee I think. I have never heard of an H2 blocker before.
I wish I could take the journey with you, but for now I am happy just to take less radical steps than total withdrawl.
