[/floatright]3.9 Beta 1 - Released 27 Jan 2007
---------------------------------
+: *BIG ADDITION*: NewsLeecher now implements a new feature called
Repair'n'Extract (RnE) which makes article verification,
repairing and extracting fully automatic.
Note that this is an early beta so the feature might still
contain various bugs. Bugfixes and more RnE funtionality will
be implemented in the forthcoming betas.

I've been testing it this past week and it's been great! I queue a dozen or so DVDs and when I wake up their all done and ready to be burned! It saves a lot of time and I'm glad it's finally here. :)

yup
only problem i see if that hard drive/cpu usage goes up for a second after each rar finishes and obviously the whole computer slows down as it extracts unexpectedly> I also noticed some bugs like extracting to the wrong folder and stuff but that's not a big deal and will be fixed by final. :)

I've got a friend that is just about to get into Newsgroups, and I need to tell him what to do.

With this new feature of Newsleecher, will he also still have to install Winrar and Quickpar, or is that all taken care of with the new Beta version (he's not too techie, so I don't want to overload him)

pretty much toaken care of but if there's a problem with newsleecher extracting it, which sometimes there is, you will need quickpar and/or winrar anyway.;)
He can start with just newsleecher and if he has problems you tell him to try quickpar/winrar.:)
