I am looking to marry my girlfriend and i have some questions on financial matters. Our housing [including utilities sec. and parking] is 700$ monthly. Our groceries are 200$ monthly. Our car insurance is 166$ monthly [currently. hopefully it will go down once we are married]. gas is $100 per month. However, i want to know about our FASFA and health insurance. At the moment, we both pay nothing for school [our community college is 9000 yearly, we EACH get full PELL grant...and 10,000 in TAP and FASFA... so we actually get paid to go to school]. im wondering if anyone can estimate how that will change when we get married. we will be making about 18000 a year [together] and are under the age of 21 [i am 20 and she is 19]. we are white Caucasians with great grades.
also, can anyone estimate our health insurance monthly. [our employer doesnt offer it]. neither of us smoke or drink or have any previous health conditions. we dont have any children. we are both currently under blue sheild. are we eligable for government health programs? if you are in a similar situation... how much do you pay? [and while you at it. how much do you pay for everything?]
i have about 8000 saved up in the bank
she has about 2000
any help? we are wondering right now if this would even work ?
we're smart kids who work hard [and would pick up 2 more days working if it was absolutely necessary, but we dont want to put too much pressure on school]
