Hi all, I lost my tmobile Dash phone and so my friend gave me his AT&T BB CURVE 8310. I called ATT and was give the code to unlock the phone, which I did. Then I searched online for ways of erasing or restoring to the factory setup. Well I came across the bit about using JL_Cmder, so I did, and it wiped everything off. Now I am trying to install the OS from T-mobile, and I launch the software and it goes through everything but does not actually install anything on the phone?! I tried installing it through the Desktop Manager, but it doesnt recognize the software that I have downloaded from T-mobile.
So here are my questions:
1. Will I not be able to install the T-Mobile OS onto the ATT 8310 even after doing a wipe fith JL_Cmder???
2. Is there an official RIM OS that doesnt have all the bloated carrier branding and nonsense that I can or should use? If so, is it better to go this route (as I didnt really care much for the T-mobile crap that came on my dash) than installing the official T-mobile OS?
I appreciate any assistance that I can get in regards to this, thank you all in advance. I look forward to learning a lot about this great device from all of you here.
