Hi
I trying to buy my first MC over 150cc, I last rode 3 years back.
I just looked a 2000 suzuki GSF 600 S Bandit.

The bike looks great and hasn't been used for an year. the price is $3000. what kind of upfront cost i am i looking at if i buy the mototcycle. IS the price reasonable.

Thanks in advance to any adcive i can get.

Hey! I was just looking at that exact bike, but it was a 1996. Their price was $2599, so I guess $3k isn't too bad, but it HAS been sitting around.. I would definitely find out how it runs, especially if it's been sitting around for a year. Battery might be dead, fluids might be dry, etc. Are you buying from a dealer or private party? Go to KBB.com and check the blue book value on that bike.

Thanks for the reply, The retail kbb is $3130 and trade in is $2130. I test drove the bike and it felt good, started good and drove good. It has not been driven for an year, so i am guessing i will have to change the oils. May be the tires will also need to be changed since it has been sitting around.

I offering him a 2800 for the bike!

yet to hear back from him.

If it's been sitting for a year you probably need to get rid of that old gas, or at least put some gas stabilizer/cleaner in it - like Seafoam or some other brand - to clean the deposits from the old gas. Then fill it with fresh gas. You are lucky it runs well after sitting so long.
