newbie question about verizon phones

looks like i might have to leave iphones and att and jump over to verizon. i would appreciate any advice about which verizon smart phone to buy. i mainly use the phone for calls, internet access, email, pockettunes or wonder radio, and will need to tether to pc. i have been tethering for a long time with att iphone using pdanet. will verizon be a problem? thanks
