ok...i just got my first cell phone...and i've always heard of unlocking it and all this n that - i have no clue what it all means

what should i know? what does all this mean? tips and secrets?

unlocking means, so u can use ur phone on a network other from where u brought ur phone, like a different country, dosent give u any new features
