NEWB Question (Mail for exchange question)

I am new to symbian. Just purchased a N73 and have set it up with mail for exchange and my 4smartphone exchange server. Everything works great except I would like to see a notification on my homescreen that I have mail. I currently get the new mail pop up but I would rather just show a small envelope saying that I have new mail like it got in my windows mobile and palm devices. Is this possible?

Thanks

you can not do this on the N-Series devices. This is only a feature of the E-series.

Additionally, N-Series can only run mail for exchange up to version 1.3.1. If you have an E-series, you can run the latest version (1.5). Nokia does not support exchange/bbc on N-Series devices anymore, and they want to direct these devices to a multimedia market.

too late for that. This is my first symbian, figured this would be an ordinary feature as originally a palm treo user as well as multiple windows mobile devices, this feature was standard. Its not really that big of a deal but it seems like you cant really customize the homescreen which really sucks.

Perhaps, but i've been extremely satisfied with the Series60, especially on the e-series, at how customizable the home-screen/active standby has been. Granted, it's not pocket pc, but it gets the job done.

doesn't the "@" icon show up when you have new mail on mail for exchange on the n73? i thought mine used to do that when i used that as my main phone.
